Volunteer Counselors

In Summer 2016, 47 staff counselors and 178 youth volunteer counselors served more than 22,250 hours at Camp Aldersgate. Volunteer counselors help campers with basic personal care, as well as help with activities such as archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, and fishing. Camp is the place where volunteers can discover what it is truly like to give of themselves in the most caring, non-selfish way.

To be a volunteer counselor, the individual must be 14 years or older. These volunteers help campers with activities such as canoeing, archery, fishing and swimming. They also assist staff counselors by helping with some of the campers' personal care needs. Summer volunteer counselors arrive Sunday morning and stay with the campers until Friday afternoon. Weekend volunteer counselors arrive Friday afternoon and stay through Sunday afternoon.
