Volunteer Counselors

During the summer of 2019, 52 staff counselors and 216 youth volunteer counselors served 22,345 hours at Camp Aldersgate. Volunteer counselors help campers with basic personal care, as well as help with activities such as archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, and fishing.

Camp is a place where volunteers can discover what it is truly like to give of themselves in the most caring an unselfish way. To be a volunteer counselor, you must be 14 years or older and comfortable helping campers with activities such as canoeing, archery, fishing and swimming. You will also assist staff counselors by helping with some of the campers’ personal care needs.

Summer volunteer counselors arrive Sunday morning and stay with the campers until Friday afternoon. Weekend volunteer counselors arrive Friday evening and stay through Sunday afternoon.
